About
Research indicates that 'Subman' is frequently used as a variation or common misspelling for 'Supaman' (Christian Takes Gun Parrish), a highly influential Native American hip hop artist and dancer. While Supaman is originally from the Apsáalooke Nation in Montana, he has a significant and recurring presence in the Milwaukee underground and cultural music scene, performing at major venues like the Marcus Performing Arts Center and appearing on 'Studio:Milwaukee' (88Nine Radio Milwaukee). His work blends traditional Native American loops and fancy dancing with contemporary urban beats. Alternatively, 'Subman' is the longtime alias of Matt Marks, a Wisconsin-based musician and member of the band 'The 7' from Omro, WI, known for his association with the 'Weird Al' Yankovic fan community and independent music circles. In the local Milwaukee underground hardcore scene, the name is also occasionally confused with 'Sublet,' a powerviolence/grindcore band active in the city's DIY circuit (e.g., MKE Ultra).
