About

In February of 2002, Andy Parmann purchased Mykey Adler a one year website registration of www.didntthathurt.com for his 22nd birthday. The site name, also Mykey's AOL Instant Messenger handle at the time, was a common question asked by normies in shocked response to Mykey's 2 inch stretched ears.

By April, Mykey and Andy, along with Scott of Forever Is Forgotten and others, had claimed residence in Riverwest where DTH? was officially headquartered out of for several years. From the DTH House, hundreds of punk and hardcore shows were hatched including the annual Robot Mosh Fest.

DTH was a social media website - before social media was a thing - and it's ability to focus and put Milwaukee bands in the spotlight hasn't truly ever been replicated. The advent of MySpace and Facebook led to the online death of DTH... but the idea never quit being valid.

After DTH, Mykey became Michael... a dad and a software engineer, still playing in punk and rock n' roll bands. Andy went on to continue playing in metal bands and was one of the co-founding owners of X-Ray Arcade.

This iteration of DTH hopefully lands in a moment in time where Milwaukee could use a focused spotlight once again. DTH, this time around, should be less obnoxious, maybe more mature, maybe even smarter than it used to be.

Beyond the history lesson above - I hope that the reminiscing about 2002-2007 is minimal and that the kids running these shows today use this as a tool to make their world's better. DTH is a history book for some. But it's a battle guide for others.

Start more bands. Create more art. Don't wait for people to do it for you. Go do it yourself. You have a very short window of time to live in this world... make sure people remember you.
