Manticore
About
Manticore is a prominent and long-running black/death metal band formed in 2000 in Euclid, Ohio. Over their two-decade career, they have become a staple of the Midwest extreme metal underground, maintaining a significant presence in the Milwaukee music scene through frequent performances at venues like Quarters and Stonefly and appearances at regional festivals such as November Coming Fire. Known for their raw, barbaric sound—often categorized as 'war metal'—the band is recognized for their ritualistic live shows and a prolific discography that includes full-lengths like 'Bowels of the Holy Anoint Us in Evil' (2003) and 'Endless Scourge of Torment' (2022). They have released music through respected underground labels such as Hells Headbangers, Deathgasm Records, and Breath of Night Records.
