Witch Club Satan

About

Witch Club Satan is an all-female Norwegian feminist black metal trio formed in early 2022 in Oslo. The group consists of Victoria Røising (bass), Nikoline Spjelkavik (guitar), and Johanna Holt Kleive (drums), who met at theatre school and initially conceived the band as a theatrical performance project. They are renowned for their visceral, ritualistic live performances that incorporate blood, nudity, and occult themes to explore 'female rage' and the historical legacy of witch trials. Their self-titled debut album was released on International Women's Day, March 8, 2024, and was co-produced by Anders Odden (Satyricon, Cadaver). The band is notable for their outspoken political stances on environmentalism and human rights, and they have performed at major international festivals such as Hellfest and Roadburn.
