About
The Blasphematics was an underground acoustic punk and new wave project formed in Milwaukee in 1997 by Jeff Loomis following the dissolution of his previous band, Housecat-Sized Fennec. The lineup featured Jeff Loomis (M.C.), Mike Bee (D.J., also known as Mikey B.), and Ryan Matzen on backing vocals. The group recorded a self-titled demo in April 1998 at the Pirate House, which was subsequently released on the Captain Midnight Music label. The band was a part of the vibrant late-90s Milwaukee DIY scene before members transitioned into other local acts, most notably Mike Bee joining the pop-punk outfit The Response.
