Boys

About

Boys (often stylized as BOYS) was a prominent four-piece rock band in the Milwaukee underground and DIY scene during the mid-to-late 2010s. Centered in the Riverwest neighborhood, the band was closely associated with the boutique label Gloss Records and the wider collective of musicians that defined the city's fuzzed-out indie sound of that era. Led by Mike Brumm (guitar/vocals), the group earned local acclaim for their high-energy live performances and their ability to blend driving post-punk rhythms with melodic hooks. Their 2018 album, 'Kind of Blue,' was widely regarded as an essential Milwaukee release of the decade. While the members remain active in various other local projects such as Bumby Jonas and Saebra & Carlyle, the band has been largely inactive since 2020.
