About
Profanatica is an influential American black metal band formed in 1990 by former members of Incantation, including drummer and vocalist Paul Ledney [Profanatica - Encyclopaedia Metallum](https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Profanatica/2175). Recognized as pioneers of the first wave of American black metal, the group is known for its primitive, blasphemous style and extreme anti-Christian themes [Profanatica (news, biography, albums, line-up, tour dates)](https://www.season-of-mist.com/bands/profanatica/). After a hiatus starting in 1992, the band reformed in 2001 and has since released numerous albums through labels like Hells Headbangers and Season of Mist [Profanatica](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Profanatica).
