POWERMAN 5000

About

Powerman 5000 is an American industrial metal band formed in 1991 in Boston, Massachusetts. Led by frontman Spider One (Michael Cummings), the younger brother of Rob Zombie, the group is celebrated for its high-energy fusion of heavy metal, electronic rock, and science fiction themes. They achieved massive commercial success in the late 1990s with their platinum-selling album 'Tonight the Stars Revolt!', which produced the hit singles 'When Worlds Collide' and 'Nobody's Real'. Throughout their career, the band has moved through various styles including rap-metal, punk-rock, and nu-metal, while maintaining a consistent science fiction aesthetic. Though they relocated to Los Angeles in 1996, they remain a staple of the industrial rock scene and continue to release new music, including their 2024 album 'Abandon Ship'.
