PRIMER 55
About
Primer 55 is an American nu metal band formed in 1997 by guitarist Bobby Burns and vocalist J-Sin (Jason Luttrell). The group gained significant attention for their fusion of heavy metal with hip hop, eventually signing with Island/Def Jam. Their major label debut, 'Introduction to Mayhem' (2000), featured guest appearances from members of Incubus and (hed) p.e., and they performed on high-profile tours like Ozzfest 2000. Following the release of '(The) New Release' in 2001, the band experienced several hiatuses and lineup changes, including Burns joining Soulfly for a period. After years of inactivity following J-Sin's death in 2018, the band announced a reunion in 2025 with a new lineup featuring Donny 'The DRP' Polinske on vocals.
