Pet Mosquito is a high-energy garage punk quartet originally from Carbondale, Illinois, that has become a prominent fixture in the Midwestern underground music scene, including frequent performances across Wisconsin. Self-described as 'pesky and annoying, like teenage mosquitoes,' the band delivers a raw, lo-fi sound they call 'thrift shop thrash,' characterized by snarly vocals, social commentary, and an unhinged stage presence. Their music often incorporates unexpected elements like saxophone and horns, drawing comparisons to the snotty swagger of The Dicks and the grit of Big Black. Since their formation, they have released a series of acclaimed underground projects, including the 'Pre Apocalypse Motorcycle Music' EP (2024) via Slovenly Recordings and the 'Village Idiot' LP (2025) through Chicago-based label What's For Breakfast? Records.
