Niveous is a black metal trio from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, formed in July 2024. The band consists of Zygrath (guitars), Vokar (bass/vocals), and Nortaath (drums/vocals), musicians who previously performed in regional acts such as Cryptual, Outer Graves, and Winterlore. Describing their sound as "boreal black metal," the group draws inspiration from first and second-wave black metal, focusing on themes of dark mythology, winter landscapes, and cosmic evil. They released their debut EP, "Endless Snowfall," in March 2025 via Transylvanian Recordings, followed by the sci-fi concept full-length album "Cult of the Void Star" in 2026 through Hypnotic Dirge Records.
