Knelt Rote
About
Knelt Rote was a highly influential extreme music project from Portland, Oregon, known for their abrasive fusion of blackened death metal, grindcore, and harsh power electronics. Formed in 2007 by Gordon Ashworth and several collaborators, the band evolved from a grinding noisecore outfit into a more structured, yet equally claustrophobic, death metal entity. Their discography, largely released through the esteemed Nuclear War Now! Productions label, includes landmark albums such as 'Insignificant' (2010), 'Trespass' (2012), and their final masterwork 'Alterity' (2018). The group dissolved following the release of 'Alterity,' with members continuing in other avant-garde and experimental music projects.
