Ghost Days is the DIY shoegaze and dream pop solo project of Alessia Kato, a singer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist. Originally from Miami, Kato relocated to Chicago in 2018, where she quickly became a staple of the Midwest underground music circuit. Her sound is characterized by hazy, lo-fi production, reverb-drenched 'jangly' guitars, and ethereal, introspective vocals. Since debuting in early 2018, Ghost Days has released a steady stream of singles and EPs, including 'Leaving Butterfly' (2021) and 'Swans Cry' (2022). While based in Illinois, the project is highly active in the Milwaukee and regional Wisconsin DIY scenes, frequently performing at local venues like High Dive.
