About
Deströyer 666 is a high-profile blackened thrash/death metal band formed in 1994 in Melbourne, Australia, by guitarist and vocalist K.K. Warslut following his departure from Bestial Warlust. The band is a cornerstone of the 'war metal' and blackened thrash subgenres, known for their aggressive, blasphemous, and nihilistic lyrical themes. After establishing themselves with the landmark album 'Unchain the Wolves' (1997), the band relocated to Europe in 2001, eventually basing themselves in the Netherlands and the UK. Their sound evolved to incorporate more classic heavy metal and speed metal elements while maintaining an extreme metal core, as heard on acclaimed albums like 'Phoenix Rising' and 'Cold Steel... for an Iron Age'. They remain a major influence in the global underground metal scene and have performed in Milwaukee at venues such as The Rave during their North American tours.
