About
Formed in 1988 in Koblenz, Germany, Desaster is a legendary name in the international black/thrash metal underground. Drawing inspiration from first-wave pioneers like Venom, Hellhammer, and Destruction (from whose song 'Total Desaster' they took their name), the band has maintained a raw and uncompromising sound for over three decades. After an initial brief hiatus in the early 90s, the band reformed and solidified their status with landmark albums like 'A Touch of Medieval Darkness' (1996) and 'Hellfire's Dominion' (1998). Led by founding guitarist Infernal, Desaster continues to deliver a relentless blend of aggressive thrash and atmospheric black metal, most recently showcased on their 2025 studio album, 'Kill All Idols,' released via Metal Blade Records.
