Cut Copy
About
Cut Copy is an Australian electronic music band formed in 2001 by DJ and graphic designer Dan Whitford. Originally established as a solo home-recording project, the group expanded into a full band including Tim Hoey, Mitchell Scott, and Ben Browning. They are widely recognized for blending 1980s synth-pop and New Order-style post-punk with modern house and techno. The band achieved massive international success with their 2008 breakthrough album 'In Ghost Colours' and the Grammy-nominated 'Zonoscope' (2011). While based in Australia, they have a significant following in the United States and have frequently performed at Wisconsin venues such as Milwaukee's Turner Hall and Madison's Majestic Theatre.
