Dance Commandr
About
A fixture of the Milwaukee underground since 2003, DJ Dance Commandr (Jeffrey Allen Joseph) began his journey as a resident DJ at the legendary Club Anything. As a founding member of the Goth Barge collective, he is dedicated to building inclusive environments and third spaces for the alternative community. Creating vital social hubs where the subculture can thrive outside of the daily grind. His current work is focused primarily on music video mixing, where he bridges the gap between sound and sight. Behind the decks, he curates a sound that spans Darkwave, Industrial, Post-Punk, EBM, and Goth Rock. His sets are rooted in the scene's history while constantly searching for the next evolution of the sound. This obsession with the dark aesthetic extends to his work co-hosting the Spooky Frog Podcast and producing events like Goth Prom, Blood Rave, and Mall Goth. Whether he’s digging for obscure tracks or organizing a large-scale gathering, his mission remains rooted in the longevity and health of Milwaukee's alternative community.
