About
Castle Rat is a medieval fantasy doom metal band from Brooklyn, New York, formed in 2019. Led by Riley Pinkerton (The Rat Queen), the group is renowned for its theatrical live shows and lore-driven aesthetic inspired by Black Sabbath and the art of Frank Frazetta. The band members perform as characters—The Count, The Plague Doctor, and The Druid—who defend 'The Realm' against their nemesis, The Rat Reaperess. They released their debut album 'Into The Realm' in 2024 and the follow-up 'The Bestiary' in 2025.
