Zach Top

About

Zachary Dirk Top (born September 26, 1997) is an American country music singer-songwriter who has emerged as a leading figure in the "neotraditionalist" movement, reviving the sounds of 1990s country legends like George Strait and Keith Whitley. Raised on a ranch in Sunnyside, WA, Top began his musical journey at age seven in a family bluegrass band called Top String. He spent his teens and early twenties touring with professional bluegrass groups, including the award-winning band Modern Tradition. In 2021, Top relocated to Nashville to pursue a solo country career. He gained significant momentum in 2024 with his debut album Cold Beer & Country Music, which featured the #1 hit single "I Never Lie." His authentic sound—characterized by heavy use of fiddle and pedal steel guitar—earned him the 2025 ACM New Male Artist of the Year award. By late 2025, he released his sophomore album, Ain't In It For My Health, which won Best Traditional Country Album at the 68th Grammy Awards (2026). He is currently a major-label artist signed to Leo33 and is recognized for bringing traditional country aesthetics back to the mainstream.
