The Yawpers
About
The Yawpers are a three-piece rock and roll band from Denver, Colorado, formed in 2011. The band consists of Nate Cook on lead vocals and guitar, Jesse Parmet on slide guitar and harmonies, and Alex Koshak on drums. Their music blends elements of rock and roll, Americana, punk rock, and blues rock, creating a unique sound that has been described as 'an expansive vision of rock 'n' roll, one that cherrypicks from various folk traditions: punk, rockabilly, blues, whatever they might have on hand or find in the trash.' The Yawpers released their debut album, 'Capon Crusade,' in 2012, followed by 'Good Songs/Shitty Versions' in 2013. In 2015, they signed with Bloodshot Records and released 'American Man,' produced by Johnny Hickman of Cracker. Their 2017 album, 'Boy in a Well,' is a concept album set during World War I in France. In 2019, they released 'Human Question,' which was recorded live in Chicago and produced by Alex Hall. The band has toured extensively, sharing stages with acts like Delta Spirit, Lucero, and The Reverend Horton Heat.
