About
Wylie Jakobs is the singer-songwriter project of Jake Hess, formerly of the thrash metal band Ahab's Ghost. Hess began writing songs for Wylie Jakobs in 2016-2017, but the project gained momentum during the COVID-19 pandemic. In early quarantine, he completed his first record, "Unmarked Graves," and released "Seven Days" in 2023, a collection of songs written over a week during the pandemic. Lyrical themes in his music encompass love, loneliness, and self-perception. His latest single, "Salt & Charcoal," released in February 2024, reflects on personal loss and introspection.
