About
The Wrenfields, formed in 2000 in Detroit, Michigan, are known for their distinctive blend of rock with country and folk influences, creating a sound that is both enduring and modern. The band consists of John Pyro (lead vocals/drums), Tom Morgan (lead & steel guitars), Matt O’Bryan (rhythm guitar/vocals), and Frank Budd (bass/harmonica). Prior to The Wrenfields, these members played together in the jazz-tinged rock band Miracleberries, which released 'Happy Hour' in 1997. Their debut album, '21st Century Pioneer' (2002), and its follow-up, 'Seconds' (2003), received international critical acclaim. In 2005, they collaborated with alt-country icon Gary Louris of The Jayhawks to produce 'Green Man’s Ghost' (2010). The Wrenfields have been recognized with six Detroit Music Awards and have shared the stage with numerous national recording artists.
