When the Wall Breaks Down (WTWBD) is an improvisational music project and multimedia platform led by multi-disciplinary artist and videographer Shravan Raghuram. Based in Chicago but a frequent fixture in the Milwaukee underground scene, the project is described as 'spontaneous, shapeshifting, and ever-evolving.' WTWBD encompasses a rotating musical ensemble (sometimes referred to as the Explosion Ensemble), a DIY cassette label, and a prolific YouTube channel that documents live performances from independent and DIY artists across the Midwest. The project aims to bridge the gap between artist and audience while fostering a more connected DIY community between the Chicago and Milwaukee circuits.
