About
Val Son is a three-piece, DIY rock band from Minneapolis, MN. Formed in 2014, members Mike Gunvalson, Eric Carlson, and Emily Mohrbacher write collaboratively, using distorted guitars, earthy percussion, and minimalist song structures to lyrically explore the good and the bad of life in the Midwest. They describe their sound as 'sad rock.'
