About
Unmerciful is a prominent American technical brutal death metal band formed in 2001. The group was founded by Clint Appelhanz and James King, both formerly of the band Origin, and has maintained a reputation for relentless speed and extreme technicality. After making a significant impact with their 2006 debut album 'Unmercifully Beaten' and touring extensively with acts like Cannibal Corpse and Dying Fetus, the band went on hiatus in 2009. They reformed in 2012 and have since released several critically acclaimed albums including 'Ravenous Impulse' (2016), 'Wrath Encompassed' (2020), and 'Devouring Darkness' (2024). While based in Kansas, the band is a staple of the Midwest metal circuit and frequently performs at major regional events such as the Milwaukee Metalfest.
