The Rapture
About
The Rapture is an American rock band that was a primary force in the dance-punk and post-punk revival movements of the early 2000s. Formed in 1998 by Luke Jenner and Vito Roccoforte, the group eventually settled in New York City and became a cornerstone of the DFA Records scene. They gained international fame with their 2002 single "House of Jealous Lovers" and the album 'Echoes' (2003), produced by James Murphy. Their sound famously blends angular post-punk guitars with disco and house beats. After a hiatus starting in 2014, the band reunited in 2019 and continues to perform, with a major tour announced for 2025.
