About

The Joyce Boys is a long-running Irish folk ensemble from Chicago, composed of two sets of brothers who are cousins and the son of one of the original members. Formed in the late 1960s, the group has become a staple of the Midwest Irish music scene, particularly in Chicago and Milwaukee. They are well-known for their high-energy performances of traditional Irish jigs, reels, and folk classics. The band is a frequent performer at major regional festivals including Milwaukee Irish Fest and Summerfest, and they regularly play at venues such as Reggies Chicago, Hey Nonny, and Cobra Lounge. Current members include Michael Joyce (guitar, vocals), John Joyce (mandolin, vocals), Brendan Joyce (bass), Brian Joyce (harmonica, vocals), and Tom Joyce (flute, tin whistle, vocals).
