1985 - PresentAbout
Formed in 1985 in the vibrant music scene of Minneapolis, The Jayhawks became one of the most influential bands in the alternative country and Americana movements. Led by the core duo of Gary Louris and Mark Olson during their peak years, the group achieved critical acclaim with albums like 'Hollywood Town Hall' (1992) and 'Tomorrow the Green Grass' (1995), which defined their signature sound of lush vocal harmonies and melodic roots-rock. Despite various lineup shifts and hiatuses, the band has remained a prolific and respected force in independent music, consistently releasing new material and touring worldwide.
