About
Tag Team is an American hip hop duo famously known for their 1993 multi-platinum hit single 'Whoomp! (There It Is)'. Formed by Cecil Glenn (DC the Brain Supreme) and Steve Gibson (Steve Rolln), the pair originally met in Denver, Colorado, before relocating to Atlanta in the late 1980s. Immersed in the Southern club scene, they developed a sound heavily influenced by Miami bass and freestyle. 'Whoomp! (There It Is)' became a global cultural phenomenon, frequently used in films, television, and sporting events. After a hiatus in the late 1990s following their second album 'Audio Entertainment', the duo experienced a major career resurgence in 2021 through a viral GEICO 'Scoop! (There It Is)' commercial, re-introducing their music to a new generation.
