Rosenau & Sanborn

About

Rosenau & Sanborn is a collaborative duo consisting of Milwaukee-based guitarist Chris Rosenau (Collections of Colonies of Bees, Volcano Choir) and Nick Sanborn (Sylvan Esso, Made of Oak, formerly of Decibully). The project was born from an impromptu improvisational set at the inaugural Eaux Claires music festival in 2015. Their sound is a meticulous blend of Rosenau's intricate, chiming guitar melodies and Sanborn's expansive, modular electronic textures. They released their debut album 'Bluebird' in 2019, followed by 'Two' in 2026, both of which emphasize spontaneous composition and the sonic environment of their recording sessions.
