PERIPHERY

About

Periphery is an American progressive metal band formed in Washington, D.C., in 2005. Founded by guitarist Misha Mansoor, the group is widely considered a pioneer of the "djent" movement within progressive metal. Known for their technical complexity, use of extended-range instruments, and polyrhythmic structures, they have released several acclaimed albums including the "Juggernaut" double-LP and the Grammy-nominated "Periphery III: Select Difficulty". Their most recent work, "Periphery V: Djent Is Not a Genre", was released in 2023. The current lineup features vocalist Spencer Sotelo, guitarists Mansoor, Jake Bowen, and Mark Holcomb, and drummer Matt Halpern.
