New Medicine is an American rock band formed in 2009 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The group, led by frontman Jake Scherer (also known as Jake Rose), gained national attention with their 2010 debut album 'Race You to the Bottom' and hits like 'Laid' and 'Rich Kids.' Their sound is characterized by a high-energy blend of hard rock riffs, post-grunge sensibilities, and occasional hip-hop and electronic influences. After releasing 'Breaking the Model' in 2014, the band went on an indefinite hiatus in 2015. They officially returned in 2019, releasing new singles such as 'Die Trying' and 'Fuck It.' Though based in Minneapolis and later Nashville, the band maintains a strong presence in the Wisconsin music scene, notably performing at Milwaukee’s Summerfest in 2022 and frequenting regional venues like The Rave.
