MU330

About

MU330 is an American ska-punk band formed in 1988 in St. Louis, Missouri. The group's name is derived from the music class at St. Louis University High School (Class 330) where the original members met. Known for their high-energy, often manic live performances—a style they dubbed "psycho ska"—the band became a staple of the third-wave ska movement. Led by principal songwriter and vocalist Dan Potthast, their sound evolved in the late 1990s into a more melodic, lyric-driven blend of ska and indie rock, often compared to Weezer and The Specials. They have released eight full-length albums, primarily on Asian Man Records, including the highly regarded "Crab Rangoon" (1997) and "Ultra Panic" (2002).
