Mt. Joy
About
Mt. Joy is an American five-piece indie rock band that originated in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and is currently based in Los Angeles, California. The band consists of Matt Quinn (vocals, guitar), Sam Cooper (guitar), Michael Byrnes (bass), Sotiris Eliopoulos (drums), and Jackie Miclau (keyboards). Founded in 2016, the group initially formed when Quinn and Cooper, who had been high school friends in Philadelphia, reunited in Los Angeles. They named their project after Mt. Joy, a mountain in Valley Forge National Park near their hometown. The duo recorded their debut single, "Astrovan," with the help of Byrnes, whom they met through Craigslist, and producer Caleb Nelson. The song gained significant streaming success, leading to the addition of Eliopoulos and Miclau to complete the lineup. Mt. Joy released their self-titled debut album in 2018, followed by "Rearrange Us" in 2020, "Orange Blood" in 2022, and "Hope We Have Fun" in 2025. The band has been active since 2016 and continues to perform and release new music.
