About

Max Klapperman (Max Joshua Klapperman, 1982–2018) was a prominent figure in the Milwaukee underground arts and poetry scene for over fifteen years. He was a long-time regular and 'featured reader' at Poets Monday, Milwaukee's longest-running poetry open mic event, which has been hosted at venues such as Thai Joe's and Linneman's Riverwest Inn. Known for his evocative spoken word performances, Klapperman also contributed to local literary publications, including the 'Poet's Monday Grab Bag' (Edition 21). Following his passing in September 2018, the Milwaukee creative community honored his legacy with a memorial celebration at Linneman's in April 2019.
