About

Link-80 was a highly influential ska-punk and hardcore band formed in 1993 in the East Bay area of California. Closely associated with the 924 Gilman Street scene, they were known for a fast, aggressive 'skacore' sound that stood in contrast to the more pop-oriented ska bands of the 1990s. The band's early period was defined by the charismatic and intense lead vocals of Nick Traina, the son of author Danielle Steel. Following Traina's death in 1997, the band continued with Ryan Noble on vocals, releasing 'The Struggle Continues' before eventually disbanding in 2002. Notable members include guitarist Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, who later achieved fame as a film director (Scream, Ready or Not).
