Jonathan H. Smith, known professionally as Lil Jon, is an American rapper and record producer born on January 17, 1971, in Atlanta, Georgia. He is credited with popularizing the crunk subgenre of hip-hop and was the frontman of the group Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz. Throughout his career, Lil Jon has produced several Billboard Hot 100 hits and won a Grammy Award for Best Rap/Sung Performance for his collaboration on Usher's "Yeah!".
