Janani K. Jha (formerly known as J. Maya) is an indie pop singer-songwriter and author originally from the San Francisco Bay Area [1][2]. A Harvard University graduate, she gained significant recognition after her Greek-mythology-inspired single "Achilles Heel" went viral on TikTok in 2021 [1][15]. Her work often blends literary themes with pop music, as seen in her debut album "The Rest of the Laurels" and its companion novella "Katathon" [1][3]. Beyond her solo career, she voices Aphrodite in "EPIC: The Musical" and was a contestant on the reality television show "Survivor 45" [2][7].
