About
Hepcat is a legendary American ska and rocksteady band formed in 1989. Known for their soulful, authentic Jamaican-inspired sound, they were a cornerstone of the 1990s ska revival, though they leaned heavily into traditional rocksteady and soul rather than ska-punk. Fronted by vocalists Greg Lee and Alex Désert, their 1993 debut 'Out of Nowhere' and 1997's 'Right on Time' are considered definitive classics of the genre. The band remains highly influential in global underground ska circles and has a history of high-profile performances in the Midwest, including Milwaukee.
