Gehenna

About

Gehenna is a seminal Norwegian black metal band formed in Stavanger in January 1993. Originally established by Sanrabb, Dolgar, and Sir Vereda, the group became a key figure in the second wave of Norwegian black metal. Their early work, specifically the 1994 EP 'First Spell' and the 1995 full-length 'Seen Through the Veils of Darkness,' is highly regarded for its atmospheric and symphonic approach to the genre. Over the years, the band's sound evolved, experimenting with death metal elements on the 2000 album 'Murder' before returning to a more traditional black metal style with later releases like 'WW' (2005) and 'Unravel' (2013). Despite several lineup changes and periods of lower activity, Gehenna remains an influential name in the extreme metal underground.
