EMO SHOW!
About
Nicole Costantini is an Atlanta-based performance scholar, professor, and practitioner who teaches at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). Her solo performance piece, "The Emo Show" (often stylized exactly as "EMO SHOW!"), is a multimedia narrative that traces her 25-year relationship with the emo and pop-punk music scenes. Starting from her adolescence in the New Jersey DIY scene of the early 2000s, Costantini explores the emotional depth of fandom, the cultural evolution of the genre, and the impact of personal and parasocial betrayals within the community. The show has been featured at various festivals including the Atlanta Fringe, Tucson Fringe, and the Petit Jean Performance Festival.
