About

Death From Above 1979 is a Canadian dance-punk duo consisting of bassist/synthesizer player Jesse F. Keeler and drummer/vocalist Sebastien Grainger. Formed in 2001 in Toronto, the band became famous for their high-volume, aggressive sound created using only bass and drums. Their 2004 debut album, 'You're a Woman, I'm a Machine', is considered a landmark in the dance-punk and noise rock genres. Following a breakup in 2006, the duo pursued other projects (such as MSTRKRFT and Sebastien Grainger & The Mountains) before officially reuniting in 2011. They have since released several successful albums, including 'The Physical World' (2014), 'Outrage! Is Now' (2017), and 'Is 4 Lovers' (2021).
