About
Coyote Man is an instrumental progressive metal power trio from Chicago, Illinois, featuring Augie Portugal (guitar/keys), Ian Wheeler (drums), and Rene Rodriguez (bass). While the members have collaborated in various projects since the early 2000s, they officially formed Coyote Man in 2015. The band is known for a cinematic and explosive sound that weaves together intricate progressive metal riffs, tribal drum rhythms, and atmospheric post-rock soundscapes. Their discography includes their 2017 self-titled debut, the 2020 album 'Precognition', and the 2026 release 'Prosthetic Memories'. They are a staple of the Midwest underground scene, frequently performing in Chicago and Milwaukee.
