Chaepter is the stage name of Chicago-based artist, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Chaepter Negro. Originally from Central Illinois, he began his musical journey at age six with piano and cello lessons, and by 13, he was writing songs and recording music. In 2019, he moved to Chicago to pursue a solo career, releasing his debut album, "Kicking the Cat," a "Midwest Gothic" collection that delves into themes of generational trauma and religious decay.
