Caustic Abyss

About

Caustic Abyss is a Minneapolis-based death metal project formed in 2024 by a collective of veteran musicians from the Twin Cities extreme metal scene. The lineup includes guitarist and producer Will Maravelas (Plague of Stars, ex-Coffin Rites), bassist Casey Harris (ex-Echoes of the Fallen), guitarist Nathanael Ashwood (Echoes of the Fallen), vocalist Alex Gorgos (Grand Demise of Civilization), and drummer Brett Barrett (Imaginaerum). Their sound blends old-school death metal (OSDM) aggression with melodic Scandinavian influences. The band released their debut full-length album, 'Eternal Winter Crypt', on January 17, 2025, via Twin Town Tyrant Records. The album was recorded at Maravelas' 14:59 Studios and mastered by legendary Swedish producer Dan Swanö.
