About

Canaan Cox is an American singer-songwriter, actor, and dancer known for his fusion of contemporary country, pop, and rhythm and blues. Born in Hendersonville, North Carolina, he was immersed in music from an early age, with his father playing Conway Twitty records and his mother touring the Southeast with her band. Cox earned a BFA in Musical Theatre from Catawba College, which influenced his approach to songwriting and live performances. In 2016, he moved to Nashville, where he began performing in downtown bars. A significant career moment occurred in 2021 when he met radio and television personality Bobby Bones, who invited him on his show, reaching over 9.2 million listeners. This exposure led to his single "As You Leave" being featured on major Spotify playlists, including New Boots, Wild Country, Breakout Country, and Next from Nashville. Cox's music has garnered over 120 million streams as of January 2025, and he continues to release new material and tour internationally.
