About

The Boogie Men (often credited as The Boogiemen) were a seminal band in the Milwaukee underground punk scene during the early 1980s. Emerging from the local 'Starving Art' collective, they were known for their high-energy live shows and raw garage-punk sound. Their most notable contribution to the era's discography was the 1981 single 'Do the Boogieman' b/w 'Death and Taxes,' released on the independent Splat Records label. The band was a contemporary of other Milwaukee alternative pioneers like The Ama-Dots and Die Kreuzen before disbanding around 1982.
