About
The Blasphematics (frequently spelled Blaspematics) were an underground band in the Milwaukee music scene during the late 1990s. The group was formed by Jeff Loomis (following the 1997 dissolution of his previous band, Housecat-Sized Fennec) and featured members Mike Bee (also of Men From Mars) and Ryan Matzen. They released a self-titled demo tape in 1998 through Captain Midnight Music, which was recorded and mixed at the Pirate House by Jeff Loomis. Their sound blended acoustic punk sensibilities with new wave and pop-punk influences, and they were active performers at local venues such as The Globe East.
