Barry Manilow
About
Manilow (often colloquially or ironically referred to as "Barry Manilow") was an underground indie rock band based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, active during the late 2000s and early 2010s. The group was a staple of the Milwaukee DIY and indie scene, known for a sound that blended melodic emo sensibilities with aggressive post-hardcore energy, drawing comparisons to bands like Braid or The Get Up Kids. The band featured musicians Nate Gradowski and Kyle Seifert. Their primary release, a self-titled full-length album, was released in 2010 and featured tracks such as "The Big Slow" and "The New Year." They were frequent performers at local underground hubs like the Cactus Club and various house show venues before eventually disbanding as members moved on to other projects (such as Seifert joining the band Dramatic Lovers).
