About
FLIPOUT AxAx (often referred to simply as AxAx) is a prominent Japanese fastcore and hardcore punk band. While based in Tokyo, the band has maintained a significant presence in the Milwaukee and Wisconsin underground music scenes for over a decade. This connection is primarily due to their long-standing relationship with the label 625 Thrashcore (owned by Max Ward), which is a cornerstone of the Wisconsin powerviolence community. AxAx is best known in the Midwest for their blistering high-speed thrash sound, reminiscent of 1980s Japanese hardcore, and their split releases with legendary Wisconsin bands such as Mellow Harsher and SxFxN. Their discography, characterized by 1000mph tempos and aggressive shouted vocals, is a staple of the 'Midwest Blast' subculture.
